47. The Story of Ferdinand by Munro LeafMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
Somehow I'd never read this as a kid, but I kept seeing it in the movie The Blindside and wondered if it was a real book. Lo and behold, it is, and it's awesome!
Ferdinand's an introvert which I love. Also, the illustrations are wonderful.
