Why We Sleep

Why We Sleep: Unlocking the Power of Sleep and Dreams8. Why We Sleep: Unlocking the Power of Sleep and Dreams by Matthew Walker

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

If you've never read a book about sleep, this one has a lot of info. I've read a couple so I was already familiar with a lot of this material.

This is definitely more focused on what sleep & dreams do for our physical and mental health rather than how to get better sleep. He definitely conveys sleep's importance for good health (avoiding fatal accidents, preventing illnesses...) and offers suggestions of how businesses, schools, hospitals, and society could change their view of sleep to improve people's health, learning, and work.

For a book written by a medical doctor specializing in sleep, I'd suggest The Sleep Solution: Why Your Sleep Is Broken and How to Fix It by W. Chris Winter.

On the Upside...

We have the opportunity to peacefully overthrow our government this year.

To that end, register to vote or verify that you are still registered.

If you are turning 18 by an election day this year, look into pre-registering to vote in your state so you will be good to go on the day.

Then, show up for elections and VOTE BLUE!

And encourage others to do the same.
