Note to Self, vol. XXII

When your ethernet stops working all of sudden for no reason, make searching the Apple support forums (via some other way to access the internet if you can) an earlier step in your troubleshooting process.

Curse you, Apple, and your sneaky hidden update that broke my ethernet internet access. I wasted hours thinking it was a hardware problem. (Granted a couple false-negative results dragged that process out longer before I could eliminate every variable but the port. And even then, it's the software that's the problem!)

Fingers crossed that in cleaning the port, I didn't break it by mistake.

Also, Apple, please get on an update fix pronto! I'm not in any mood to reinstall my OS to fix your mistake and this didn't work.

Although it's nice when a site has the added identity theft protection of the Norton Shopping Guarantee, do not expect to take advantage of the "Lowest Price Guarantee."

When you read far enough down in the terms and conditions, you'll see the lower price only qualifies if it's the listed retail price on the site where you made your initial purchase. The site can, for example, offer a lower price for the item you bought for weeks with no coupon code required but call it some kind of "online special" to negate the "Lowest Price Guarantee."

Tasty Cake

Thumbs way up, Duncan Hines, for your Perfect Size Golden Fudge cake. The usual cake mixes are always too much, but this is, in fact, a great size.

I'd say a quarter of this small single layer cake is about equal to a single slice of a double layer cake.

Comes with frosting and a little cake pan. The "Golden Fudge" AKA yellow with chocolate frosting is very tasty!

Life of Art SitRep #313 Your Name Front and, well, Off-Center actually

Looking back at the week, it turns out I shot quite a bit of video, 64 clips. I also culled quite a bit from that shoot and other recent shoots. Doing my best to be brutal to save myself time and energy in the long run.

Also revised Black Stripes and Chevrons with Your Name with a narrower name band and started adding it to my shop. The name/text and background color are customizable!
