With temperatures only in the 40s yesterday, it must've been cold up there. The rainbow colored hot air balloon was so close it looked like it was going to land just over the hill.
I love it when I see hot air balloons! I've never been in one, but I have a friend who has, and she said it was so super hot... I wonder if now would be the right time of year to take a ride!
I like seeing them too. Don't often see them this close though. I haven't been up in one either though I'd like to. Even with the burner in action, I wasn't sure how much radiant heat you'd get since the basket is not enclosed. Maybe fall would be a good time. Yesterday was a bit grey for it though.
I might never have known this if we hadn't had a TequilaCon in Santa Fe and I spent so much time researching things to do in New Mexico, but apparently every fall there is a hot air balloon festival just outside of Albuquerque and thousands of hot air ballonists gather there and launch their balloons over the course of a few days. I'd like to go back and photograph it someday.
