Sketchbook, page 12

(Previous pages)

The process of filling a 120 page sketchbook by year's end continues:

"Ski jumper"

And here we see how my drawing falls apart when I don't have a visual reference handy. I drew this the day after the first ski jumping competition of the Olympics from memory. As I watched all the ski jumping they aired over the two weeks, I soaked in some details I got wrong here. Those brave, crazy souls don't wear full helmets, for example. They also keep their arms and hands out by their sides, fingers spread, to increase their bodies' surface area during the jump. Notes to remember for next time...

A year ago on TTaT: Almost time... --kinda love this cartoon I made
