Life of Art SitRep #10

A series to mark what I did to further my pursuit of a life sustained by my art each week. Committing to these posts is a commitment to action, because to have content for them, I have to do something. Every week.

If you have any sort of goal you're pursuing, feel free to share your efforts of the past week in the comments. Or encouragement, that's good too.

What did you do to pursue the life you want this week?

  1. I finished the final shoot for my movie last Saturday, I went to improv class and had a random encounter with a playwright I met last week who invited me to do a sketch comedy show with himself and his friends, and I'm doing the final voice overs for my movie tomorrow. And meeting with my Fringe show director tomorrow to start writing in earnest. I'm totally popping! And I'm SO glad you've started this project for yourself, seems like you're really making some good forward movement!

  2. I wondered how your movie was coming along. Sounds like you're creatively packed to the gills–awesome!

This series has been really good for me. Keeps me motivated but without paralyzing pressure. I've shot more in the past 10 weeks than I did all of last year. Great to feel creatively inspired and engaged again. I need to figure out the business side more, but it does feel good to make headway even if it's small.

  3. Hmmmm. I'm not sure I did anything. Oh! Wait! I did a few reiki sessions. And I had an epiphany that helped me realize why I couldn't write my "services" page for my blog. Thanks for asking so that I could realize that.

It looks like you are taking lots of steps towards your goal. Very inspiring.

  4. You're most welcome. I find I'm much more motivated when I ask myself that question and keep tabs. Also answering it repeatedly has helped me clarify the sort of life I want, an ongoing discovery, naturally.

And I'm interested in what other people are doing and how they're going about it because your efforts inspire me too. Taking notice of a week's accomplishments, however large or small, is a nice way to give a dream structure. Also knowing why something isn't working is very useful. Good luck with the next steps!
