Heard phone ring. Saw Dad leaning over the kitchen phone, reading the caller ID.
"Anyone of note?" I asked.
"Washington, D.C.," he replied.
"Are they calling to personally apologize?"
"No doubt," he said glibly.
They didn't leave a message though.
