Between yesterday and today, the light in my yard significantly changed. Instead of blinding sun bursting past skinny branches with small, pale green buds, there is a thin canopy of translucent leaves glowing with sunlight. With some rain and a few more days, the leafy canopy will block all but the smallest dots of blue from the vista. I'll miss the sky and this late afternoon sun.
