Oh SciFi, how late you keep me up

Note to self: Tape the second half of the miniseries when they're aired in succession and part one starts at 11 pm. Seriously. Better yet, tape the whole thing, so you don't get so into it you decide to stay up until 3 to watch it all in one sitting. Just go to bed!

Battlestar Galactica's miniseries beginning was really good though. And last week, Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars, which I took to be the miniseries ending of that series was also quite enjoyable. I must be craving sci-fi.

  1. Note to Claire: Buy it on DVD. It's worth watching several times over. Or come over to Château Michèle once I buy it and we'll watch it together.

  2. Michele: I would totally watch it again, but am too broke to indulge in buying it just now. I saw most of this season of BSG, so it was cool to see how well some things were set up all the way back to the miniseries. Also, merci pour l'invitee. Your part of the US is the only part of the continental US I haven't hit yet, so I'd like to check it out someday.

  3. Neil: Them's fighting words. Or maybe not. Really I don't understand why more people don't like scifi. I enjoy a good story in most any setting.

  6. Ms. Sizzle: Well, you're not called Sizzle for nothing, eh? ;)

Fitena: Hmm. I would think every story you watch would qualify as a ride of some sort. As for insulting your intelligence- I don't get that at all. It's a made-up world, just like all fiction.

  7. It's a made up world with costumes and masks. Very Commedia del Arte, if you know what I mean.

People who don't get sci-fi love to indulge in making fun of people who do. I would protest, but I make fun of people who really dig football, so whatever.

But girl, we got to love the Apollo, know what I mean? Mmmm.

Maybe he'll be my next secret pretend boyfriend.

Neil, if being a sci-fi geek and owning lots of movies with space ships in them and wanting to escape for a while is wrong, I don't want to be right.

  8. Michele: I do know what you mean... the first time. Have you heard Apollo's real accent? It kinda freaked me out. Starbuck's the babe there.

Stick with Ewan. He's the whole package (well maybe too whole with a family of his own already... but damn, he even looks good scruffy).

  9. hmmm... over made up world! Its not just Scifi, I watched Matrix and Underworld and couldn't help being irritated by both. Worry not, No one gets it either, everyone is telling to just quit watching movies! I guess I just enjoy down to earth real make believe stories.

  10. Kevin: I did see that about the prequel just the other day. My gut feeling is that I'm not sure BSG has been around long enough to carry a spinoff, but we'll see.
